    The Advisor to the Hon’ble LG Ladakh inaugurates Ladakh State Data Centre and Ladakh SWAN HQ.

    Leh, October 04, 2024: The Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal (IAS), inaugurated Ladakh State Data Centre (LSDC) and Statewide Area Network (SWAN), Headquarter collocated at LSDC building in presence of Shri Sanjeev Khirwar (IAS), Principal Secretary, Information Technology Department, UT of Ladakh.
    The event gathered technology experts and stakeholders who witnessed the unveiling of a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance data management and storage capabilities.

    The event commenced with a warm welcome from the IT Department officers, NIC officers, other stakeholders and system integrator who emphasized the importance of the new data center in driving innovation and supporting the organization’s growth strategy. The agenda included a tour of the facility, showcasing its advanced infrastructure and security features.

    Mr. Amanpreet (System Integrator) further briefed that the Data Center is built on the state-of-the-art infrastructure and will be highly beneficial for the Administration of Ladakh, providing reliable and secure infrastructure for hosting e-Governance applications. This is based on the hyper-converged infrastructure which integrates computing, storage, and networking for exceptional performance, storage of all nodes available for use, IO Management from Fabric Interconnect, Inline compression and deduplication inbuilt, and Data protected by replication across cluster nodes. Cisco router, firewall, ISE, switching, umbrella form an essential part of this Data Center.<br

    The Advisor commended the remarkable efforts put into establishing a state-of-the-art infrastructure, highlighting its thoughtfully designed layout and innovative architecture. He praised the integration of cutting-edge technologies in the new facility, including enhanced energy efficiency, robust cybersecurity measures, and scalable solutions that can adapt to future demands. Emphasizing the importance of maximizing this facility's potential, he urged that it be utilized to its fullest capabilities, as this center will serve as a central repository for various applications, and a platform for delivering services to both citizens and government employees.

    Additionally, he expressed that the establishment of the SWAN HQ has significantly enhanced the technological landscape, facilitating improved efficiency and collaboration. This not only strengthens operational capabilities but also positions the Data Centre as a pivotal hub for future advancements in technology.

    The Principal Secretary, Shri Sanjeev Khirwar, extended his heartfelt thanks to the Advisor to HLG and reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring its optimal utilization. He expressed deep appreciation for the contributions of all stakeholders who played a vital role in making the center operational and to bring this vision to fruition as swiftly as possible. Furthermore, he highlighted that the center is designed with scalability in mind, positioning it to adapt to future technological needs. This facility will provide government employees in Ladakh with an advanced platform to better serve the citizens, enhancing efficiency and accessibility in public services.
