About us

NIC (National Informatics Centre) Ladakh UT Centre was formed in when its two district centres namely NIC District Leh and NIC District Kargil were carved out of erstwhile NIC Jammu and Kashmir State when the state was bifurcated into J&K UT and Ladakh UT on 31st of October 2019. The erstwhile NIC Jammu and Kashmir was established in the year 1988 and by 1989 all the then fourteen districts were covered including the two tribal districts of Leh and Kargil. Ladakh has become a separate Union Territory as part of Jammu & Kashmir Reorganization Act 2019.
